国际联合大学始于20世纪初期，由千古草圣、中国高等教育的奠基人于右任先生和民主革命先驱刘觉民先生共同提出。
         中国第一所大学是诞生于19世纪六十年代的外国教会大学---上海圣约瀚大学。清光绪二十一年(1895)，于右任先生以第一名成绩考入县学，成为秀才。两年后又在三原宏道书院、泾阳味经书院和西安关中书院继续求学。光绪二十四年(1898)参加岁试，又以第一名成绩补廪膳生，曾被陕西提督学政叶尔恺誉为“西北奇才”，1904年（清光绪三十年），清廷下令拿办传播革命思想的代表人物于右任先生，于右任先生逃离开封到上海，当他和挚友刘觉民先生看到上海圣约瀚大学校训“光与真理”时，发誓一定要在中国创办一所让每一位青年人都能接受国际化教育的学校。最重要的是：他们渴望全世界不同国家、种族和宗教的年轻人汇聚在一起，让他们共同生活、相互学习，可以为消除国家或地区间的冲突、增进各国人民之间的友好做出重要贡献。还可以增进各国之间不同文化的了解、积极推动和促进人类和平的发展！
         于右任、刘觉民先生曾建议上海圣约瀚大学改为国际联合大学更有意义，未得到认可，1906年这所学校在美国注册，正式称圣约翰大学。1913年添设大学院，招收硕士研究生，形成预科、本科、大学 院三级敦学阶梯。1936年始招女生。 后发展为拥有文、理、工、医、农五个学院十六个系的著名大学，于1947 年向国民政府注册。
          因改校名建议未被采纳，国内又无法注册，于右任、刘觉民先生便积极筹款创立了复旦大学、上海大学等高等教育机构，后刘觉民先生英年早逝，于右任先生被蒋介石劫到台湾，国际联合大学的创办沉寂下来……
       1956年，刘觉民先生之子、于右任先生养子和弟子刘田依先生提出父亲与养父的平生夙愿时被打成右派，后平反并加入中国共产党。
         改革开放后的八十年代中期，刘田依先生会同掌门弟子李佳琴女士、义子冯存辉先生再度提出。
          2019年2月14日刘田依先生不幸病逝，这一年也是于右任先生诞辰140周年，为了纪念于右任先生，也为了完成几代人的理想和夙愿，李佳琴、冯存辉夫妇在2019年11月10日于右任先生仙逝55周年之际，经中国工信部备案创立了国际联合大学网站，并于2020年1月14日刘田依先生一周年纪念日正式推出。

   International Union University
         The International Union University began in the early 20th century. It was jointly proposed by Mr. Yu Youren, the ancient Caosheng, the founder of China's higher education, and Mr. Liu Juemin, the pioneer of the democratic revolution.
         China's first university was born in 1860's in shanghai Saint John's University. In 1895, Mr. Yu Youren was admitted to the county school and became a scholar. Two years later, he continued to study in Sanyuan Hongdao academy, Jingyang Weijing academy and Xi'an Guanzhong Academy. In 1898, Guangxu took part in the year-old examination and made up for his students with the first grade. Ye Erkai, the governor of Shaanxi Province, once praised him as "the wizard of the northwest". In 1904 (the thirtieth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty), the Qing government ordered Yu Youren, the representative of spreading revolutionary ideas, to escape from Kaifeng to Shanghai. When he and his best friend Mr. Liu Juemin saw the motto of Shanghai Saint John University, "Guanghe "Truth", I vowed to establish a school in China where every young person can receive international education. Above all, they are eager to bring together young people of different countries, races and religions around the world to live together and learn from each other, which can make an important contribution to the elimination of conflicts between countries or regions and the promotion of friendship among peoples. It can also enhance the understanding of different cultures among countries, actively promote and promote the development of human peace!
         Yu Youren and Liu Juemin suggested that Shanghai St. John's university should be changed into an International Union University, which was more meaningful and not recognized. In 1906, the University was registered in the United States, officially known as St. John's University. In 1913, the University was added to enroll master's degree students, forming a three-level academic ladder of preparatory, undergraduate and university. Starting in 1936. Later, it developed into a famous university with 16 departments in five colleges of literature, science, engineering, medicine and agriculture, and registered with the national government in 1947.
         Because the proposal of changing the name of the University was not adopted and could not be registered in China, Yu Youren and Mr. Liu Juemin actively raised funds to establish Fudan University, Shanghai University and other higher education institutions. Later, Mr. Liu Juemin died young, and Mr. Yu Youren was robbed to Taiwan by Chiang Kai Shek. The establishment of the International Union University fell silent
         In 1956, Mr. Liu Tianyi, the son of Mr. Liu Juemin, Mr. Yu Youren's adopted son and his disciple, proposed his father's long cherished wish for his life. He was beaten to the right, and later he was pacified and joined the Communist Party of China.
          In the mid-1980s after the reform and opening up, Mr. Liu Tianyi, together with the headmaster's disciples, Ms. Li Jiaqin and Mr. Feng Cunhui, his son, proposed again.
         On February 14, 2019, Mr. Liu Tianyi died of illness. This year is also the 140th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Yu Youren. In order to commemorate Mr. Yu Youren and fulfill the ideals and long cherished wishes of several generations, Mr. Li Jiaqin and Mr. Feng Cunhui, on November 10, 2019, on the 55th anniversary of the death of Mr. Youren, established the website of the International Union University on the record of the Ministry of industry and information technology of China. On January 14, 2020, Mr. Liu Tianyi The first anniversary of birth was officially launched.
